Mental Health and Criminal Justice

NPR has some great reporting on the mental health crisis being shifted from a crumbling health care system to the criminal justice system. This report focuses on Los Angeles County, but that is not the only place this is a problem. We see it frequently in Oklahoma. There are some programs working to assist people suffering from mental illness who find themselves in criminal trouble and stop the "revolving door" so many people have experienced due to untreated mental health issues.
